After many, many years of struggle, Collins first became known, nationally, then internationally,  for her uber-scaled earth toned giant horse head paintings, layered with historical collage and papers aged by the sun, wind, and rain, to provide earth tone colors from the earth itself.

For Collins, the historical collage is as much a part of her history and our societal DNA, as the pages she uses are often from the 1800's and early 1900's - each page having been touched by generation upon generation of souls who have held that same page, and in so doing, imparted a bit of their love, into the work.

There is a timelessness to all Collins work, but the earth toned works perhaps evidence this upon an initial viewing, as you are surrounded by history and depth.... bits and pieces of those who paved the paths that made our lives possible.

Just as our own actions will echo through the generations to come.
